Sr. Accountant

Description
We’re looking for an accountant to ensure accounting quality and efficiency. As a Sr. Accountant you will be actively involved in every step of the accounting process. Your main task will be to analyze past transactions and present valuable information about our company's performance. Also, will be responsible for analyzing financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within the company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Record financial transactions
• Reconcile general ledger accounts
• Identify potential discrepancies, and reconcile them by collecting and analyzing data
• Compile comprehensive reports with accounting team
• Prepare journal entries for month-end close
• Perform month-end and year-end close process
• Prepare forms and financial documentation in time, including balance sheets
• Develop periodic reports for management as needed
• Audit financial transactions and document accounting control procedures
• Adhere to all accounting principles
• Research and stay up to date with state laws, and update procedures / documentation as needed
• Complete specialized reports as required
• Assist with annual audits as needed
• Identify bottlenecks and suggest solutions
• Perform other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting position.
• Extended knowledge of Puerto Rico tax and wages laws.
• Knowledge of accounting applications like Concur, Quickbooks, or ERP preferred.
• Advance knowledge of QuickBooks, MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Fully bilingual, English and Spanish.
• Strong Analytical Skills, able to identify cause and affect relationships between aspects of a problem in order to achieve timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Sharp business acumen in order to evaluate information received, assess situation and report information to the appropriate individuals.
• Working knowledge of complete accounting cycle.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, interfacing with internal and external customers, and meeting project timelines.
• Ability to effectively work as a part of a larger project team and with external contract relationships.
• Availability and willing to work extra hours and weekends when required.
