Automation Programmer

Caguas, Puerto Rico
The Automation Programmer will provide technical support for Automation and Vision Inspection Systems of our clients and will be responsible for installations, troubleshooting and repair of systems and equipment. Also, this position supports packaging project field executions. Responsible to deploy technology projects providing on-site project implementation, troubleshooting, training, and customer support services for their products. Project Engineers configure and validate our product functionality and performance against project deliverables. Develop and review mechanical designs and electrical schematics. Responsible of designing and assembling equipment for the Life Sciences Industries (Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology/Medical Devices).
  • Bachelor or comparable degree in Engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Software,
  • Computer, or Automation).
  • Minimum of 3 to 6 years of relevant experience or a combination of equivalent education and experience in automation and project implementations.
  • Must possess a solid understanding of FDA Validation guidelines and industry best practice for this field.
  • Must have experience, in regulated environment industries such as solid dosages industry, medical device, pharmaceutical and/or biopharmaceutical.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Solid Works and/or Automation programs such as FactoryTalk,
  • Studio5000, among others.
  • Technical Writing.
  • Wiring experience is a must.
  • Background in Electronics, including PC and PLC based systems.
  • Must have previous experiences to in automation process such as panels developments, installation, and configuration.
  • Understanding of service delivery methodology.
  • Install, troubleshooting and repair equipment and systems.
  • Configuring and programming control systems.
  • Assemble and integrate control systems.
  • Design and/or review electrical schematics.
  • Execute and support validation protocols.
  • Provide technical trainings.
  • Provides support, direction, and solution to customer failures.
  • Identify and launch new ideas to continue and increase solutions designs.
  • Participation on the internal department meeting to assure project deliverable are done in a timely manner.
  • Provides on-site start-up support for the client’s software and equipment, in addition to technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Installs new or modified equipment at customer’s facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications, including electrical testing and optical set up.
  • Coordinate’s problem resolution with engineering, customer support, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
  • Develop prototype and mechanical designs, electrical schematics, and assembly mechanical stations.
  • Generate Bill of Materials (BOM’s) and mechanical schematics (Fabrication drawings, regulations and standards.
  • Understand the client’s service delivery methodology and acts as the first line of customer contact and the owner of customer relationships.
  • Participate in meetings and support business strategies with the third-party companies.
  • Provide support to its peers’ responsibilities.
  • Provides support, direction, and solution to customer failures.
  • Execute visual evaluations, designs, and component selections. Provides support, direction, and solution to customer failures.
